The Power Revealed in His Resurrection

January 18, 2026

“Jesus hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” (Hebrews 1:4–5, AMP).

“God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee” (Acts 13:33, AMP).

These passages lead us to an important question: When did Jesus inherit His great Name? When was it officially given to Him?

The Scriptures show us that this declaration points directly to the resurrection.

Acts 13:33 explains that God fulfilled this word by raising Jesus from the dead. This means that the statement, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You,” is not referring to His birth in Bethlehem, but to His triumph over death. It was at the resurrection that Jesus was brought forth in victory and publicly declared as the Son in power.

At that moment, Jesus was made alive from spiritual death and raised in glorious authority. It was after His resurrection that He proclaimed that all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to Him.

Every Scripture that speaks of Jesus inheriting or receiving His Name points to this great event. The fullness of the power, authority, and honor contained in the Name of Jesus was revealed in and after His resurrection.

Today, that Name stands above every name—greater than angels, greater than any power or dominion.

And the amazing truth is this: He has given that Name to us.

Confession

Jesus is Lord. He is risen from the dead, and He is Lord over all. The power and authority displayed in His resurrection live in His Name, and He has given that Name to me. I walk in that authority and victory today.
